PATUTAHI NEWS
(Hcrahl Correspondent.) Weill her conditions being favourable, the card evening held by the Patutahi branch of the New Zealand f.filinur Party on Saturday night was :>, pro noun cod success. There was a good attendance. The prize-winners were: -Mr.-. To Kani Pere. Messrs. T. Sin don. J. MeF. Clneher, and T. Tamaten. A special prize was won by Mr. A. McGnvcstoii. The prizes' were donated by Messrs. John English and John Maiison, whoso generosity was greatly appreciated.
Mr. Colin Wilson, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Wilson, of the Patutahi Hotel, has accepted an appointme.n,with the New Zealand Railway Depart men t, and has left for Wellington, where he will commence duties shortly. His many friends, especially iii the Tennis Club, wish him all success in his new career.
The usual euchre party was held in the Patutahi flail on Monday night, a large number being present. Among them were the following:—Mesdames Peach, McDermott, Wilson, McGnvcstoii, Lawlor, Batson, Baty, Pere, Tipane, To Kani, Edwards,.Reid, Wailaki, l.add, Ritchie, and Peel; Misses Worsnop, Man-son, Pore, and McDermott. Prizes were won by the following: -Ladies: Mrs. G. Batson, 1; Mrs. T. I't'rc, l'. Gentlemen: Mr. A. Wilson, 1; Mr. Tipane, 2.
