KOPUAWHARA The nlhly meeiing of the Kopu whara Women's Institute was held on June 4 in the V.M.O.A. Mrs. Swaimell presiding over a full attendance of mem hers. The meeting was opened with singing of the institute ode. The, motto for the meeting. "It is a comely thing to be glad" was given by Mrs. Gumming. The, roll call, -'What I consider (he last straw,'' brought forth some amusing replies. The competition, most useful article made from skeins of 3,ply wool, resulted.—Miss While. 1; Mrs,- Davis, 2. Mrs. S'wannell gave an interesting demonstration on the making of knitted house slippers. After an enjoyable afternoon tea dispensed by the hostesses, Mesdames Swannell and Willis, the meeting dosed with the singing of the National Anthem. ' •
