THE WEATHER To-day's North Island Report Blue skies were reported at Auckland this morning, but overcast, .conditions prevailed elsewhere in the North Island, with rain general. Light: to moderate southerly breezes were general. The barometer had continued the falling movement. Temperatures at D o'clock were: Auckland 52 degrees, Taiiranga and East Cape 54, Opotiki ami Napier 53, Gisborne 03, and Wellington 48. Rough seas were reported between Cape Campbell and Cast lepoint; elsewhere moderate or smooth.

Last Night's Forecast A complex series of depressions extends in a south-south-easterly direction from Norfolk Island to beyond Otago, while an intense anticyclone covering Australia and the western Tnsman Sea is moving eastwards. Winds, light, to moderate north-easterly predominating at first from Canterbury northwards; elsewhere southerly and strong southeasterlies or southerlies extending over most of the Dominion during to-morrow. Seas in New Zealand waters moderate, but an easterly swell on the east coast, and later seas increasing generally.
