The Hongkong correspondent of .the News Exchange Agency' says that 100,000 Chinese soldiers-and civilians participated yesterday in an. antiJapanese demonstration at Canton, shouting the slogans: -"Down-with Japanese Imperialism,'' and '' Fight the Japanese," and virulent antiJapanese speeches were deliverod. A Shanghai message says that the Chinese National Government is still sending troops southwards in view of the doubtful attitude of the Kwangsi troops, who are reported still to be menacing Hunan. ;

Five Japanese warships arrived at Amoy and landed marines. to protect Japanese property. They will proceed to Canton if necessary.
