The Japanese Government is considering a new method of taxation, says the Finance Minister, Baron Baba. The plan is to base taxation on a sliding scale, providing for minimum, medium or war-time expenditure as the new national policy necessitates. ~ ..
The Government has lifted the ban from public meetings, which had operated since the militarist outbreak in February. It is understood that the raising of the state of martial law will follow.
