Mr. P. Havre lias been appointed assistant secretary of the Automobile Association (Otago). There were 82 applicants for the position. Mr. ,T. J. Ryburn, of Ngahinapouri, has boon ro-electcd chairman of the Waikato Hospital Boaiu. Mr. Ryburn has been a member of the board for 24 years and chairman for six years.
The Rev. L. 11. Hunt, who was minister of the Mount Eden Presbyterian Church from 1!)20 to 1932, has resigned the charge of the Karori Church, Wellington, on account of illhealth. Dr. Martin Tweed, Dnncdiu, medical adviser to the Plunket Society, will arrive in Gisborne this evening,'and will attend the annual meeting of the Plunket Society in Gisborne, to be held tomorrow afternoon at the society's rooms in Paliuerston road. ..
Mr. Alfred Katz, M.A., youngest son of Rabbi and Mrs. Katz, left Wellington this week for Sydney to embark on the Otranto, bound for London, via Suez, on June 20. Mr. Katz plans to visit his brother in Sweden and continental .countries before returning to New York in October to continue his university Studies. He will enrol as a grnduato student at Yale University, studying for the doctorate of philosophy in social psychology and anthropology.
