FARM MURDER MYSTERY
POLICE STILL PUZZLED
FUNERAL OP THE VICTIM-
EVIDENCE OF ESTEEM
(Per Press Association.) WHANGAEEI, this day. The police are still puzzled over the murder of Ernest. Nelson, who was found dead on the drive near his house near Okaihan on Wednesday evening. The police realise they are up against a difficult problem. Wads found near the body show that the gun used was a 12-bore, which is a common type, and the wads provide little help. Many Maoris.in tho vicinity have an imperfect knowledge of English, which makes questioning difficult and unprofitable.
A Maori-speaking detective has now arrived. The ftiiieral of the victim of the murder took place at Kawakawa yesterday, and tho esteem in which he was held was evidenced by a large gathering of, Europeans and Maoris.
