MANY APPLICANTS
The search for screen types by the Television Film Corporation, Limited, has resulted in u very keen response by (Sisborne people eager to throw in their lot for a chance of a screen career in this new: New Zealand industry. . Since the camera car arrived, no fewer than 120 applications have been received and there is no doubt that the total will exceed 300.
The actual test before the camera and microphone commences to-night at the studios of the Cash Stores. All types are required, and applications i'or a film test are beiug received at. the Opera House. Singers and dancers, musicians and elocutionists, and many people with no stage experience whatever are among! the applicants. Tho test is not a long one, it being merely the desire of the Television Corporation to have'an idea, of photographic types and voice registration. The applicants can do whatever they wish, and the tests are carried out with the utmost effort, and with perfect sincerity. The camera crew, probably will remain in Gisborne until next Tuesday, when they will film the Festival of Sport activities. especially the wheelbarrow derby. If possible, they will also be present "shooting" the rodeo. Yesterday they visited Te Puin Hot Springs, with the idea of selecting; possible locations for inclusion in the story film to bo produced here.
