The top price was lOSgns., realised for an eight-ycnr-old cow, V Ivon dale Tiny Heather.” The purchaser was Mr. Basil Mitchell, of Longburn. Other good prices were 971gns., SOgns., 78gns., and 72gns., and three others of over 50gns. The world champion cow, “Woodlands Felicie,” now aged, was submitted. Bids reached Signs., but no sale was made.

The new season’s crop of maize should be available shortly, but from present indications it is not expected to be as heavy as usual, reports the Auckland Herald. Storm damage and caterpillars have affected crops in the Bay of Plenty. Several small lines of good quality have arrived in Auckland, but the opening rates named are.discouraging local merchants. The new South African crop is reported to be fairly, light, with a tendency for higher prices. The Auckland value is unchanged at 6s 7d a bushel, through store.
