Tile possibility of a conference, between tho parties concerning the ownership of the bed of Lake Omapere, North Auckland, arising out of tho appeal by the Crown against tho judgment of Mr. F. V. 0. Acheson, judge of the Native Land Court, in favour of the natives, was mentioned at, a special sitting of the Native Appellate Court this morning. The presiding judges were Messrs. B. N. Jones and C. E. McCormick, and the Crown was represented by Mr. V. R. Meredith and the natives by Mr. E. C. Blomfield. Counsel not objecting, the court made a fixture foi* July ?8.
