ARREST. BY ITALIANS TREATMENT OF BRITON EXECUTION OF NATIVES (Klee. Tel. Copyright —United Press Assn.) (Reed. May 26. 1.30 p.m.J ’ LONDON, May 25. Reports received by the Foreign Office fi-oni Djibouti state that Warrant-Officer L. .1. Runner, of the British ambulance unit in Abyssinia, who was released alter I,jiving been brutally treated by the Italians as a prisoner, is progressing. The dog bite from which lie was suffering is responding to the treatment given. Many difficulties in which ho was placed appear to have been due to misunderstanding caused by differences in language. The incident is now regarded as closed. A report from Rome says that official advice from Addis Ababa- states that onlv 53 natives were executed between Mnv 5. the date of the Italian entry, and MnV 21.
