STORM OVER TASMAN DAMAGE IN AUSTRALIA COLLAPSE OP FACTORY (Eloc. Tol. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. May 26, .11.30 a.m.) ■ SYDNEY, May 20. Terrific seas again lashed the coast of New South Wales yesterday and cyclonic conditions still covered a wide range of the Tasman Sea. Coastal shipping was hampered and many vessels wore ..forced to run for shelter.
Mountainous seas. caused hundreds of pounds’ worth of damage at Byron Bay. The pounding waves washed away a terrace and undermined a large factory building which ultimately collapsed. A quantity of metal products was washed into the sea, but costly machinery was salvaged. At Brunswick Heads, the waves broke over a promenade wall, invading private property and causing heavy damage.
