BIG BOND STREET BEAL
£45,250 FOR GROUND RENT LONDON, March 25. The sum of £45,250, equivalent to the annual rental for 33 years, was paid at auction at the Mart yesterday for the freehold ground rent of £1350 a year ori the shop and showroom property, 22 Old Bond Street. It is understood that this security has been bought by a City company. It will give almost exactly tlio same return as that obtainable at present from per cent Consols—just under 3 per cent. This is a. notable indication of the appreciation of investment in land on the part of investors who are prepared to buy for the future. Mr. W. W. Withers, of Debenliam, Tewson and Chinsacks, Clieapside, conducted the auction for the rector and scholars of Exeter College, Oxford.
