KALINGO GETS FREE MISHAP AT MIPNIGHT DAMAGE TO PLATES (Per Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, last night. OLD BOYS BEAT TE KARAKA A FORWARD GAME After a forward game Old Boys defeated Te Karaka on Saturday afternoon on their home ground by 16 points to nine. The ball was kept amongst the forwards most, of the time, but when the Old Boys' pack got it out, to'their backs the following movement usually resulted in a score. The ground was heavy. There was great excitement towards the end of the match when the score stood at 11—9 in favour of Old Boys and when a Te Karaka rush nearly put t'hem ahead. Old Boys added points in the last minute of the match. For the winners scores were, registered by It. Evans, P. Henderson, and A. Campbell, who also converted two of the tries and kicked a penalty goal. Molloy kicked two penaltygoals for Te Karaka, while the other three points were gained by a Tej Karaka forward who dropped on the ball, after Te Karaka forward playhad carried it over the line. Mr. A. Wortliingtnn was the referee.

CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS SENIOR COMPETITION The Celtic, seniors consolidated their position at the head of the competition on Saturday afternoon when they beat 11.5.0.8. The surprise victory of Marist over Y.M.P. gave the latter team a setback, but it still has one match in hand. The points in the senior championship are as follow : Points Ch.

JUNIOR COMPETITION In the junior competition 11.5.0.8. have now a one point lead over the two Old Boys teams entered in this grade. It must be. pointed out, however, that the Old Students and Celtic teams have each played five games and that the others all have one match in hand.
