ANGLICAN CHURCH FETE (Herald Correspondent.) Owing to the inclement nature of the weather the Anglican Church fele, which was to have been held in "Tin: Vicarage'' grounds, was held in the Parish Hall. ' The object of the fete and of a dance held in the evening was to raise a fund for the painting of the Parish Hall, and substantial support from the public did much to further this object. The winners in the competitions during the afternoon were:—dock golf.—Miss M. Holmes. Xail driving.—-Mr. l'\ W. Shelton. Estimating competitions.— Mrs. G. Wilson won a cake, and Mr. R. Pape a. tray. There was a good attendance at. the dance, music being supplied by Mrs. B. Lincoln and members of the assembled dancers. A dainty hand-round supper was served by members of the Ladies' Guild, during the course of which the Rev. N. F. Benliani thanked those present for their support of a worthy cause; Amongst those present were Mesdames X. F. Benhain, E. Badhain. K. Colson, A. Johnson, A. Dever, B. Lincoln,-IT. Menzies, M. E. Holmes, and E. Boss; Misses J. and E. McNamara, M. Calvert, M. and M. G. Holmes. J. Donald, J. and M. Thornton, B. Weeks. K. Smith, J. Sainsbury. K. Lumsden, T. Sturm, and 1). Sheather.

Miss .M. P. Dooley, Muriwai. who has been the guest of Mrs. B. J. Smith for the Easier holidays, returned home on Wednesday.—Mrs. It. Lincoln and her small daughter. Cushla, returned yesterday from a holiday visit to Gisborne.— Mrs. W. McCrackcn, Te Puia. accompanied by her small son, has been spending a short' holiday with her mottier, Mrs. J. McNamara.—Mrs. Fletcher, Puha. is making a, short stay with Mrs. E. Badham. Mrs. Fletcher'will extend her visit to Tolaga as (he guest of Mrs. E. Spence. Respect and sympathy were shown to the late. Miss Dtidy Tautau, of Ormond, when a large gathering of both Maoris and pakehas assembled in Mangatuna for the funeral. Relatives and friends from far and near travelled to mourn their loss and pay their last tributes.
