: Domenico Bobbio, 39, of Regent's Park road, N.W., was found guilty at London Sessions yesterday on four charges of selling intoxicating liquor without a license. The charges related to dates in June last, when the police kept observation on a night club known as "Smokey Joe's" in Gerrnrd street, Solio. . Mr. Russell Davics, K.C., the acting deputy chairman, postponed sentence until the first day of the sessions beginning February" 25. "If on that day defendant is here with £IOO and luOgns. costs," ho added, "then I shall pass judgment in those sums." "Bobbio. on oath, denied the charges, and. said that guests ordered their bottles from a wine company.
.'"Sub-Divisional Inspector Debar said of Bobbio: "He certainly is a notorious offender against the Licensing Act. The particular establishment Which he ran in this case was a. basement den—a very small room in which vexy uii4esixable people met,"
