AUCKLAND WATERFRONT PROBABLE £140,000 COST (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Proposals for the subdivision and draining of 290 acres of land lying along the waterfront between Mission Lay and the Orakei model suburb, and tho development of the area for residential purposes, are being submitted to the Government by the Auckland City Council. The estimated cost is £140,000. The scheme aims at encouraging building operations and providing work for oyer ItO men, who otherwise may be discharged. The scheme includes the creation of a city park at Bastion Point.
