Mr. J. W. Reed, of the Magistrate's Court staff, has returned to Gisborne after a month's absence in Australia and Tasmania.
Mr. H. J. Guthrie, director of Rotary International, accompanied by Mrs. Guthrie, left from Wellington by the Maunganui en route for America. Mr. Guthrie, who is a past district governor of Rotary in New Zealand, will play a visit to many Rotary clubs in the southern States of America as a representative of Rotary International, and will attend the World Rotary Conference, which is to take place in June at Atlantic City. Mr. Denis Primmer, of New York, was to play the male lead in the. great annual show given by Columbia University in the Hotel Lismore on April 1, 2 and 5. Mr. Denis Plimmer is the son, of Mr. Harry Plimmer (formerly of Wellington), who is appearing, in the cast of "Victoria Regina" in New York. Mr. Plimmer <'ained his entrance to Columbia University through securing a scholarship for his literary attainments.
