The arbitrary enlistment of the services of the Mayor 'of Dunedin to find a New Zealand husband for a London girl may terminate in the latter getting her desired husband. Shortly before Christmas the Mayor received a letter from an English girl, whi> asked that he should provide the names and addresses of any young men who might be willing, after correspondence, to marry her and^bnng^the, girl nnd her mother to New Zealand. 1 less publicity resulted in the Mayor receiving letters from eligibles in many parts ofthe Dominion, which he forwarded to the girl. Now he has a further letter from the young woman announcing that she' has Written to one correspondent suggesting that he should reimburse the Mayor for the cost of his cablegram- She adds: "If he does not, ■ I shall have to find the money myself."
