LONDON FRUIT MARKET APPLE DEMAND STILL WEAK The High Commissioner's cable message received by the Department of Agriculture on Tuesday reviews the London fruit market as follows: •'The s.s. HASTINGS STOCK SALE RISING- TENDENCY IN SHEEP There, was only a small warding of itoro sheep at tho Hustings stock, sale yesterday, the total being 40C0. Prices vvero fully firm on last week, with a rising tendency in 'most cases. A line .if 2zo well framed wethers in forward condition, from the Wairoa district, a good line, sold at 24s Sd. Another pen of 180 two-tooth wethers, from the Wairoa district, a good even line in forward condition, sold at 24s Id.

Fat cattle was in short supply, the yarding totalling only 175,. including very little of prime quality. Passings were frequent, but values were little changed. Bullocks made to £ll Bs, aeifers to £6 16s and cows to £8 12s 6d.
