CABINET SALARIES
ANOMALIES IN BRITAIN REMOVAL APPROVED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Pruss Assn.) (Reed. .March 27, 2 p.m.) LONDON, March 26. The Sun Herald News Agency says that the British Prime Minister's salary of ESCCQ, annually involves a yearly loss estimated at £3OOO after meeting State, social and personal expenses. This emerged following a debate in the House of Commons on a private member's motion, which was carried by 153 to 66 votes, urging the removal of anomalies in .Ministerial salaries. The House agreed that the Prime Minister, instead of getting a lower salary than the law officers, should receive at least JJBCOO. and members of the Cabinet should receive £EOOO and junior .Ministers £2OOO. It was suggested that the Lord Chancellor, with a salary of £IO.OOO. should be reduced to £BOOO. The rectifications would increase the salaries bill by e26.0C0 to EIIB.OOO a year.
