LADIES' CRICKET
REFRIGERATORS WIN TIRST INNINGS DECISION In a match with the Refrigerating Company's staff team during the weekend, the Poverty Bay Ladies' Cricket Club team suffered a first innings defeat by a margin of 76 runs. ' The ladies, batting first, registered a total of 40, five of the wickets falling without cost to the opposing side, and only one of the batting side reaching double figures. The Refrigerating Company's team replied with 116, of which 26 were scored by Rutherford, 28 by Bennett, who retired unbeaten, and 22 by Mitchell. Miss A. Lloyd did .some good bowling in this innings, taking four wickets for 21 runs. In their second knock, the ladies had 25 runs on for the loss of four wickets when slumps were drawn, the match accordingly being decided on the first innings.
