P.B. CLUB RACES
In the Miller Cup four-oar series, conducted by the Poverty Bay Rowing Club, two further races were rowed ou the Taruheru River last evening, over a course of three-quarters of a mile. InUHe first, race G. Ardern, str., P. MilleivA. Baker, and N. Fitzgerald scored, a win over A. Richardson, str., H. Duckworth, R. Rigney and A. Brodie. The latter crew secured a fine staff., and went away a little from their opponents, hut Ardern picked tip well after- covering one-third of the course, and in the later stages took the lend to win by half a length. The second race saw F. Gardner, str.. Cr. Jiadweiri, A. Jukes, and W. Elliott score a comfortable victory over T. Stevens, str., J. McCullough, N. Smith, and J. Walworth, the winning crew getting the better of the start and staving inrjrront all the way. In the semi-final race, to he rowed at 5.45 p.m. to-day, Ardern will meet L Stevens, Gardner having a bye in this round. The final event is set down tor to-morrow evening.
