DELAY IN DECISION

An announcement of the Unemployment Board’s attitude on the matter of assistance for improvements to Darton Field aerodrome has not yet been made.

At the Gisborne Borough Council’s meeting last night, a letter was received from flie Minister of Employment, the Hon. If. T. Armstrong, as follows:—

“I have lo acknowledge your further letter regarding the question of a grant -from the Unemployment Board towards the cost of materials and hire of plant in connection with the proposed extensions and improvements to the Gisborne aerodrome. 1 regret, however, that I am unable at ■present to give you an indication of the likely -decision on this matter, as the whole question of policy regarding the development of aerodromes is under review by the Government, and your council’s request will be taiken into consideration in connection therewith.” 'The letter was received.
