Tim Government meteorologist, Dr. E. Kid,son, speaking in Palmerston North, said lie did not have a great deal of' faith in the value of Antarctic records as a guide to forecasting weather conditions in New Zealand. He was .anxious to study the records which ■Sir Douglas Mawson had deposited with him, lull; he thought it. would he a long time before data gathered iji Antarctica would afford much anticipation of seasonal or day-to-day weather in the Dominion. Any deductions made would he very unreliable.
