LODGE CELEBRATION RECORD ATTENDANCE (Herald Correspondent.) Last Friday night the Tolaga Bay 1.0.0. F. Lodge, following the initiation of their hundredth member, held a special celebration party. Including a number of visitors from the Maugapapa .bdge, there were,, all told, 73 lodge members present, which number constitutes a record attendance for the Tolaga Bav lodge. As the first, N.G. of the lodge on its inception, Mr. G. W. King. P. 0., took the head of the table. After a brief but touching reference to the world-wide sadness occasioned by the death of the late King George V. he proposed the customary toast to "The King.'' Following the cutting of a handsome cake, he banded control of the proceedings over 10 the N.G... Bro. Prince. Then followed an excellent programme of music, melody, and mirth, interspersed with diverse toasts. Every performer received an ovation and, as the hour of midnight, drew near, a very happy function came to an end and members wended their various ways home firmly convinced that what sometimes seemed a dull old world was not such a bad place after all. The programme was opened by Bro. Ooodley with songs, to hfs own accompaniment, on the. ukelele. Bro. 11. Fraser then proposed a toast, to the candidates, followed by a song by J.P.G. Bro. Morton. A candidate, Mr. A. L. Donald, then made a short but feeling response to the good wishes expressed by Pro. Fraser.

A pleasing violin solo by Bro. E. Robinson preceded the toast to the visitors, proposed by the P. 0., Bro. IF. Lawrence, the D.D.G.M., Bro. Harvey.. Cisborne. responding on behalf of the visitors.

Following a song duet by the Brothers .Moore, the P. 0., Bro. Harries, proposed a toast to the officers of the Mangapapa lodge, to which Bro. Redstone, N.G., responded. Two further items, a song by Bro. R. Lincoln, and an encore number by the J.P.G., Bro. Morton, brought the, musical programme to an end. Before the singing of "Auld Lang Svne" and the. National Anthem ended a most enjoyable evening, Bros. Foster, P. 0.. Cordon. P.G.. and Summerville, P.G., who had performed the ceremonies when the Tolaga Bay lodge was formed. in brief speeches, " complimented the lodge on the splendid progress made since its inception. When bidding the Gisbonie visitors "God speed" on their journey home, the N.G.. Bro. Prince, expressed Ins regret that, gatherings such as this which did so much to create a feeling ot brotherhood and good-fellowship, could not be held more frequently.
