WEEK-END CRICKET
MURIWAI'S VICTORY MATCH WITH GASCO A cricket match was played at Muriwai during the week-end between Muriwai and fiasco, resulting in a win for the home side by 38 runs. Muriwai batted first, knocking up 87 runs, of which M. Brown contributed 19 and E. Green 37. E. and A. Bignall were responsible for the fall of seven wickets. Gasco made a bad start in their first innings, four wickets beingi down for five runs. Morgan took five wickets for 15 runs.
In their second innings Muriwai compiled 69 runs, the top sjcorer being L, Nepe, 22. Gasco's total of 79 runs in their second innings was largely the result of the efforts of E.
