FACTORY DESTROYED
BLAZE AT PALMERSTON N. (Per Press Association;) PALMERSTON N., this day. A fire shortly after midnight destroyed a joinery factory owned by the Whailey estate and occupied by Mr. R. A. Hay, Jersey lane, off Fitzherbert avenue. The damage to the machinery and contents alone is estimated at £IOOO. Insurances are held on both the building and the contents, but Mr. Hay is a heavy loser. The building was an old wooden one close to the main business area, but the brigade isolated the outbreak.
