Butterfly Parasites
DABASITES of the "white -butterfly are becoming more plentiful, and it is announced in the south that anyone requiring supplies may secure them by satisfying the Department of Agriculture that the white butterfly is : present on the property of the applicant. In Gisborne the butterfly has not been seen in large numbers this slimmer, and the conclusion reached is that the parasites liberated during the past two seasons have done their work so effectively that they do not re quire supplementing. The diamond backed moth, now seems to be more plentiful than the white butterfly, and the damage done has caused.concern in ,somo instances. A proposal made some time ago that a parasite should be secured for the moth was heartily endorsed in.. Gift borne, but nothing has been heard lately of it.
