DAIRY MARKETS QUIET

BUTTER STILL AT 91/-

The market for New Zealand butter and cheese in London remains quiet. with price's little changed from the end of last. week, a reduction of Is per cwt iu colored cheese being the only alteration.

Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Company, report to-day as follows: —

HASTINGS STOCK SALE GISBORNE SHEEP OFFERED The store sheep yarding at the Hastings stock sale yesterday included a line of Gisborne wethers, 2-tooth and 4-tooth, on account of Mr. H. B. Bridge. There were 7<io in the line, and they were fairly well framed, carrying store to fresh condition. They were passed in at 20s lid. Lambs comprised the greater part of the store sheep entry. Opening rates on white faced lambs were easier on last week's level, but the market picked up later. A slight easing in the values of fat cattle took place. There was another small yarding, including several attractive drafts of prime cattle. The remainder of the offering, however, was disappointing so far as quality and finish were concerned. Prime ox sold to £l2 14s for three prime heavy Herei'ords of good frame and excellent quality, others selling to £ll 17s. The top prices for heifers were £8 15s, £B, and £7 His. Cows brought to £7 10s. with others £(> 18s 6d downwards.
