Other literary fortunes have been those of Hall Caine, £250,000; W. S'. Gilbert, £111,000; Stauley Weyman, £100,000; Dickens, £93,000; T. Hardy, £91,000; and Galsworthy, £BB,OOO.
Kipling’s wealth is attributed to hall a century of steady sale of his works, none of which was published in a cheap edition.
