CHRISTCHURCH MAYOR
PENDING RESIGNATION
The deputy-mayor, Mr. J. W. Beanland, has received the nomination ot the Christchurch Citizens’ Association as a candidate in the coming mayoral byelection. The Mayoralty is likely to become vacant because of the pending resignation of the Hon. D, G. Sullivan. The association nominated Sir Hugh A eland and Mr. T. J. Moling for the two seats 1 vacant- on the City -Council. The date of the elections is not yet definitely fixed, but is expected to be early in March. '
