TOO MUCH RAIN
ROTORUA'S EXPERIENCE With nearly Bin. of rain In 14 days, the present montli in the Rotorua district, in common with other parts, of New Zealand, has had more than its sliai’o of wet weather and is now badly in need of sunshine. Pastures are becoming rank as tho result of too much rain and not sufficient sun.
Haymaking has in many cases been ruined and small fruit growers: are likely to be heavy sufferers. One grower cn the outskirts of the borough has at present 16 acres of raspberries and six acres of loganberries ready to be picked, but which cannot be handled until the rain ceases.
The plight of many camping parties in the district has been' the reverse of pleasant, and recently a large parly ot Bay of Plenty Boy Scouts, who were in camp on Sherrill's farm property, was compelled to break camp and seek shelter in St. Luke’s Hall in the town.
