OLD WOOL CLEARANCE

YESTERDAY'S SALE

VALUES AT NAPIER

VERY HELPFUL POSITION

(Spocial to tl)o Herald.)

NAPIER, this day

One of the most satisfactory features of the Napier wool sale yesterday was the big clearance effected of old wool. A large proportion of the catalogue was composed of fleece left 6ver from last season, and practically all entered was sold.- Also, most of the leftover clips in the Napier stores were entered in the sale, leaving practically none outstanding. Had the season been an ordinary one, the catalogue would have contained a greater proportion of new season's wool, "but as it was all the old clips which growers desired to offer secured a place. The subsequent disposal should help greatly to clear the situation. This • season's wool opened up in excellent condition, being bright, well-grown and sound, and the held-over wool, of which there was a considerable quantity, kept very well and sold on a par, , taking condition into consideration, j with new wool.
