The decision of (he Transport Board to exclude Palmorston North from (he route of the Great Pacific Airways was criticised to-day by the Mayor of Wellington, Mr. T." C," A. Hislop, who said that the decision would seriously lessen the vaiue of the service to Wellington and to the southern portion of the North Island.
Mr Hislop also remarked upon (lie fact that the- decision was arrived at after deliberation in camera, and that the. request of the Wellington City Council to be given an opportunity to nrotest against any alteration of the Great Pacific Airways route, as determined in (he first decision of the- board. was not acceded to, though the board under the Act is required to take into account, the representation of local authorities and other public bodies.
