GISBORNE BRANCH MONTHLY MBETING The. monthly meeting of the Gisborne branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Plunket rooms, Pahnerston road, on Monday afternoon, the president, Mrs, A, M. Puflett, being in the chair. The members present wore Mesdamcs R. F. Gainbrill, W. K. Oofle, J. O. Musgravo, N. 11. Bull, W. Cave, G. Jones, W. A. Smith, and J. Blair. Apologies for absence were received from -Mesdamcs 11. I>. Turhott, D. E. Chrisp, 11. P. Bennett, J. C. N T . Thomas uud 11. L. Primrose. It was arranged to hold Violet Day on Saturday, August 24.

Mesdamea Puflett, ,!. Blair and.N. 11. Bull were appointed delegates to attend the provincial conference at Napier en July 25. The Plunket nurses' reports of work done during the preceding month wore passed. The reports summarised are as follow : >ln Gisborne (here were 436 babies, and 69 older children, under supervision ; 86 homes were visited; 332 adults, 307 babies and 18 older children were seen at the office; 16 new babies were enrolled, and advice by telephone was given on 73 occasions. Whooping cough was fairly prevalent in the district during the month. In the country districts two visits wen; made to each of the followinp centres: Waipaoa,. where three adults and three babies visited the office, one baby w;is enrolled, and 19 homes were visited: T,e Karaka. where seven adults. five babies and one older child were seen at the office, and one new baby was enrolled; Manntuke, where three adults, one baby and one older child visited the office, three new babies were enrolled, and four homes were visited; Muriwai, where two adults, one j

Imhv and two older children were soon at the office, and one home was visited. One visit only was paid to Tolaga Bay, where five adults and four babies and two older children visited the office, one new baby was enrolled, and five homes visited.
