SOUTHERN MAORI SEAT
NATIONAL CANDIDATE
YOUNG MOTUEKA MAN
(Per Press Association.) NELSON, this day. Mr D R. Park, of Motueka, has been'approached by the Waikawa Maori Committee to consider nomination as a candidate for the Southern Maori seat. So far, Mr. Park has not given a definite answer, but he informed a Mail representative that ho has every intention of standing in the interests of the Nationalist Party. Mr. Park, who is 36 years oi age, was born in Motueka. He has been a member of the. Motueka Borough Council for three years, and is chairman ot the public services committee. Mr. Park is also a member of the Whakarewa Trust Board and the synod of the Nelson diocese. He has always taken a keen interest in sport, and especially football. He was three times selected to play in the South Island Maori team. Mr. Park is a son of the late Rangiahuta Pamariki Paaka.
