VICEREGAL PARTY

INFORMAL VISIT TO REGENT

Lord and Lady Galway, accompanied by Sir Standisli O'Grady Roche, were the guests of the management of Gisborne Theatres, Limited, at the Regent last night. Their Excellencies were welcomed in the foyer by Mr. R. J. Kerridge, who conducted them to the circle, where special lounge chairs had been installed. At the conclusion of the screening of "Give of India," His Excellency, in thanking Mr. Kerridgc for an enjoyable entertainment, expressed the opinion that the picture compared more than favorably with the stage production of "Clive of India," which he had seen recently in England, as it presented the story on a wider canvas than it was possible to obtain in, a stage version. Lady Galway also expressed her eniovment of ■the picture and her appreciation of the bouquet presented by the management. The audience remained in the theatre while 'Qhcir Excellencies left and gave them a great ovation as they came out. Another ovation wns given theiri by tho crowd outside the theatre and they drove away with a smiling and cheery "goodnight."
