WORK AT THE PARK

BUSY MORNING SCENES

The Park course presents busy scones these mornings, the operations of the various trainers with horses nominated for events at the Poverty Bay Tun Club's .steeplechase meeting next week being followed with keen interest by unusually large gatherings of racing enthusiasts.

Mr. E. Fitzgerald has Sunny Sky, Victor Coliiha, l)e Friend, and Small Boy in charge of Ivan Tinsley, and all are* well forward. Sunny Sky is sprinting well ..on the soft track, while the other members of the team are well forward. This owner has several yeailihgs in work which are showing pace " W. Goscomb has Mr. D. J. Parry's Gold Stitch and Royal Mimic in good forward condition, and also the jumpers Kahunoke and Hunting Lass, who have oeen much improved by their racing in Hawke'.s Bay. Good Hunting will he back soon "from Trcntham, Summer Hill in still a bit backward. Mr. W. Wilson has Royal Welcome, Atlantus, and Malah'a all doingi fairly well, while P. Wormald has Marching Song and Capella Abbey, which have both been spelled since they last- raced. Puccini, a cobby gelding by Prince Willouyx from .Nordia, therefore a half brothel' to Cohesion and company, jumps very well and has a fair amount of pace. Prince Willohyx has given a couple of safe displays' over the big fences. 'Quake is in work, but is not very forward.

The Mnkaraka trainer. W. D. The Brusjier is a newcomer by Colossus from Wallaby, and therefore a half-brother to Cawbeen and Toboggan, and his gallops on Saturday last showed him to be a very useful sort.

11. Martin has Mrs. Biggar's two mares, Million and Forteno. both ready to race, and also has charge of Mr. ,1. Joniiu's New Kerry, Hie steeplechaser, who had done a lot of work in the bunting held before coming to town. Tyrone Boy and Star Kinder are two hurdlers under J. W. Nixon's care, who also has two yearlings, Penny Come Quick and Gay 'Hunter, in forward condition.

Mr. P. Matn's To Uira and Tai An. have done a lot of good solid work and the first-named gallops very well.

Bolhwell and Golden Pennant am both in \V.' Marshall's charge and the former looks and moves much better than he has for a* long time. Wilson's team already mentioned, Memnon is Working very well and seems to revel in the heavy ground. Roehamptoh appears to have practically thrown off the soreness that was troubling him a few weeks back. The hunter Ironic, is a regular worker and has worked off all his grbssness. . ..Mala hat is standing up to his tasks'heavy tracks always suited him.

The Mimet'ic-Ibble filly is pleasing ii'-r owner bv the maimer in which *r<p gei" through her fast work. Flying Mimic is in work in the country, but her visits to.the track are few.
