The- Binta 1 left Auckland las.f Thursday, and-arrived at Wellington. on Sunday. , When she reached Wellington she’ .limped in at reduced speed, having damaged a compressor oil Castle Point on Saturday. She berthed at Point Howard Wharf.
Captain A. W. Norvalls, master of the Binta, told a Dominion reporter that the damage was comparatively slight, but that it would require a day or two in which to repair it. He explained that oft' Castle Point the vessel had run into rough weather; the cross-pin on the port side had carried away, damaging the foundation of the compressor. The tanker had made port at slow speed. A Lloyd’s surveyor yesterday inspected the damage, and repairs would be carried out before* the vessel sailed.
