The accumulated fund, had been reduced from £10,759 l3s 6d in 1932 to £7094 Os 5d at April 3Q.this, .year, , .... ' Mr. W. Jv Pofton, 'M.P., vnid there was still a drift; but it was not so biid as it was, and he believed -that it could be stopped. He proposed to ask members to discuss reorganisation at a later stage, and if that reorganisation could he carried out- a considerable saving would result; Reorganisation should also lead to increased membership,J and lie believed tlie union would break even- by the eiul of next year. - The depression was passing, anil the sun 'would soon sliine again for farmers and the country generally. A remit was carried that, the penalty on unpaid rates should be at the rate ol 10 per cent, for tho period owing, tho idea being that rates paid a month after the penalty was imposed would bear onetwelfth of 10 per cent, *ll was considered that this system would be an incentive to farmers to pay-up.
