As had .been expected after the county’s excellent - first innings score, the two-day match between the South African team and Norfolk ended in a draw, the visitors securing a lead of 42 runs on the first innings. At the end of play, Norfolk in their second had made 59 for the loss of three wickets. The Africans’ opening partnership laid contributed a century before Rowan was dismissed,' and the second wicket fell a few runs, later, but thereafter Sicdle, Yiljoen and Cameron scored freely, Viljoen having passed the century before he was compelled to retire on account of an injury. ‘■At one stage there were signs of n collapse, and a prospect of a first innings deficiency, but Williams and Crisp were able to wipe off tho arrears.
