SHEFFIELD SHIELD PLAY CONCLUDING SERIES SYDNEY, Fob. 15. The concluding matches in the Sheffield Shield series have commenced. At Brisbane, New South Wales, in the first innings, made 233—Fingleton 74, Chipperlield 03, Marks 50. Gilbert took six for 04, and Oxcnham two for 40. Queensland, in their first innings, have lost three for 94—Sides 33 not out, Levy 27 not out.

At Adelaide, South Australia, in their first innings, made 200—Badcock 47, Louergan 45, Waite 35, Lee 46. Flcetwood-Smith took five for 00; Sievcrs two for 39. Victoria, in their first " innings, have lost three for 01.

WYATT’S FINGER INJURED GEORGETOWN, Feb. 14. The M.C.C. captain, Wyatt, received two nasty knocks on the fingers from fast bowlers, necessitating an X-ray examination. The feature of the first clay’s play in the Hawke Cup match between Marlborough and Manawatu was the failure of tho batsmen of either side to get going.

The challengers, Marlborough, having first use of the wicket, were dismissed for 123 runs, but Manawatu did little better, and it was touch and go whether they would be able to obtain a first innings lead. The tail survived long enough, however, to carry the score to 132. In their second innings, Marlborough have lost one wicket for 10 runs.
