GOOD FIELDS PROMISED ACCEPTANCES FOR THURSDAY The committee ot the lolaga Buy Jockey Club lms good reason to be pleased with the degree ot support, from racing owners in the distlict, as indicated by the number of acceptances tor the club’s annual meeting, uhuh tunes plaee on Thursday next. A total ot 60 acceptances, lor a programme ot seven races, is undoubtedly ■ pleasing, and holds out, the promise of excellent fields in all of the day’s events. The Lawn Stakes lias been accepted for by six owners, and the harewell Handicap has seven acceptors, the same number being left in the Maiden Scurry. The Wharekaka Hack Handicap and the Waihau Hack Handicap have each a prospective field of eight runners, and the two district, races, for horses trained and owned within restricted areas, cacti have 12 possible starters. The public should find plenty of interest in a study of the acceptances, the official list of which is published below. It is understood that lie is to be retired to the stud to avoid the risk of breaking down as the result of further attempts to prepare him for racing.
