CROWN LAND MATTERS

GISBORNE BOARD MEETS The monthly meeting of the Gisborne Land Board was held to-day, the commissioner of Crown lands,''Mr. IT. L. Primrose, presiding. There were present. also Messrs J. 11. Reid, R. H. Wicksfeod, A. G. Nolan, and G. O. Donovan. The following matters were dealt with in open board, in addition to a substantial list of committee -business:—

William George Hope applied for section 4, block Nil, Moanui s.d,, 2(502. 12p.—The application was refused.

R. 0. -Gibson applied for a temporary right to occupy section 1, block VIII, Urutmva s.d., 1979 ac. 2r. —It was resolved to grant a temporary grazing right on the usual conditions, at an annual rental of £l2.

Roy Clark Gibson applied for consent to transfer to Frecl 'Collin section 3, block 111., Urutawa s.d., and lot 1 of section 24, Motu s.d., of a total area of 1359 ac. 3rd. 32p.—The transfer was approved, subject to certain conditions.

Mrs. I. A. Atkins applied for consent to transfer to Arthur (Samuel Greaves section 24, suburbs of Patutnlii, sae application was approved. The board was asked to classify sections 7 and 8, block XIV, Taramarama s.d., 107 ac. 3r. Lip.—lt; was resolved that the area should be classified as second-class land under tho provisions of section 127 (2) of the Land Act, 1924.

The field inspector, Mr. D. G. Robertson, submitted his report in connection witli section 3, block GL, Opotiki 5,(1., 1232ae., the lease of which recently lapsed.—lt was resolved that the section should be withheld from selection for tho purposes of a bush reserve.

W, J. Parkinson applied for grazing rights over section la, block VIII., Opotiki s.d., 50ac.—It was resolved to grant .a year tp year grazing right on the usual conditions under section 147 of the Land Act, 1924, at an annual rental of 255.
