DENVER (Col.), Dec. 27. The richest store of gold in all the world may soon be concentrated in Denver City, Colorado, which, because of its position—it lies hundreds of miles from (lie coast and in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains —is reckoned to be safe from any fear of invasiin. Nearly £400,000,000 worth of gold was transferred from San Francisco to Denver recently. Federal reserve banks throughout 'the country are sending gold to Denver at the moment. And it is reported that early in the New Tear another £1,000,000,000 worth 0 f gold—the United States Government’s bullion chest—will be sent from New York and Philadelphia to the gold hoard already in Denver. The great security- which Denver offers by reason of its geographical position is said to be the sole reason in making it the “Gold 11. Q.” of the United States People in America who are concerned with gold point to France, where the Government’s entire store of gold about £800,000,000 worth—is locked in vaults which could be Hooded in a few moments should the need arise.
