Rodwell, of Auckland, said that a big bid was being made by England to engage in farming, but there were great difficulties in the way of reorganisation, largely because of tradition and custom among the mass of farmers. . Much more development of British farming could be expected, especially iu butter and milk, and also the beet sugar industry. The quota effects were quite apparent and in keeping with farm expansion. He thought that it was possible that the quota would be applied to New Zealand butter.
