WILLIAMS SHIELD DRAW AND HANDICAPS i At u mooting of the Poverty Bay and East 'CJoast Lawn Tennis Association’s executive, held this week, the draw and handicaps for the season’s competition for the H. B. Williams 'Shield were declared as under: — Wairoa L.T.C. v Whataupoko —Wairoti to receive three matches. To Hapara v. Mangapapa —on level 1 terms. I Country (To Karaka .and Patutahi, v Gisborne No. I—Country to receive' 0 matches. Tolaga Bay v Gisborne No. 2—Tolaga Bay to receive 9 matches. Where a team receives matches, the number conceded shall be, deducted from the number won by the team conceding, and added to the number bf matches won liy the team receiving. Tn the event' of a draw in matches, the rubber shall be decided on the number' of games won, with the handicap in games in the- same proportion as the handicap in matches. Thus where a team receives three matches, i.e., three out of 24, the same proportion of games shall t) e deducted from the games won by the team conceding the i handicap, and added, to the games won •by the receiving team.
