Caterpillar Pest
THE caterpillar pest has proved very disastrous for a Taranaki farmer, who within two days last week had live acres of oats eaten out right down to the stalks. This is particularly unfortunate in view of the possible shortage of winter feed through the excessive hot season causing demands on fodder intended for the later season of the year.
