AIR DISASTER ECHO
MAIL REACHES DARWIN CHARRED LETTERS (Received Jan. 3, noon.) DARWIN, Jan. 3. When the air mail which arrived by the Imperial Airways plane, Arethusa, was opened, several letters were found which had been salvaged from the Royal Duteh air liner, which crashed in the (Syrian desert. Some of the letters were charred at the edges, and others , were almost burned in halves.
